CID Workforce Housing Apartment Receives Unanimous Final Approval by ISRD Design Review Board
The Blossom Apartments project is an 8-story residential mixed-use project consisting of 184 workforce units in Seattle’s Chinatown-International District (CID).
LINK Design Group (Architects) and Vibrant Cities (Developer) started the entitlements process of the project in the middle of the pandemic in 2020 and everything was done virtually.
The design seeks to respect the heritage and history of the site’s location in the CID’s “Nihonmachi” Japantown neighborhood and is inspired by Japanese culture, both past, and present. The project will replace an underutilized cinder block building and a surface parking lot, bringing critical density to the area as part of a greater effort to establish a vibrant residential neighborhood.
Blossom now continues on to through the city’s permitting process and is expected to break ground in 2023
